Rivet nuts, also called insert nuts or blind threaded inserts, create an internal thread in sheet metal, tubing and fabricated panels when the back of the workpiece is difficult to access. Choosing the correct insert involves more than the thread size: the sheet thickness, grip range, hole dimensions, head style and body shape must suit the joint and setting tool.
